What does my blog title mean….

•December 5, 2008 • 2 Comments

So what exactly does my blog title mean??? Am I trying to say am better than you at everything and that you are better than me at everything!! Sounds ridiculous, right???

:D So the answer to my own question is a YES and a NO.

Nope.. this whole topic is not being written to confuse the readers. My exact intention here is to state the obvious, in a slightly different way. Looking closely at it, you would realise what I actually meant was something you all know.

“NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE”

So why is it my blog title, you ask?? This has been one important lesson I have learnt from my life (of course, I am not going to bore you with the excerpts from my life that made me realize this. Atleast not right now :P . But do expect another post on this ;) )

Its just my perception, you say? So ppl are “naturally gifted” at things, you say?? Perhaps! My point of view may be wrong…. Maybe there are such ppl… I am not ignoring/opposing this, just that am not a huge fan of that school of thought. All I am saying is that, “if you feel someone is way ahead of you at something, dont worry.. you can catchup”. And the only thing thats preventing you from being where the other is, … not your talent … not that you are not brilliant at that…..   its just plain simple YOU.

Okie, wait a min… Am I blaming you for not being better.  Errrr…. I say, you are either not trying, or not trying hard enough, or not trying it the right (probably smart) way… thats all. Lets take a small example shall we..?? How many of us look at a Sachin Tendulkar or a Yuvraj Singh and sigh that they are such naturally gifted players.  Now lets take a moment and think, did Sachin/Yuvraj actually start playing beautiful drives and elegant flicks from the very first day they took a bat in their hands. If you do think so, think again :P . It took them years to be where they are and they are into the National team not on luck.

So Mr.Crazy here says that You/I can replace the Great Sachin Tendulkar. Yes, if you had done the right things at the right time. Yes, if you had persevered long enough to do just that.

There cannot be another Sachin…  but how many in International Cricket have an average higher than him. A LOT. If such a lot could, in their own way, can’t you??  If Sachin could do it at 16 why cant you do it at 25 or 30? Hussey could…             I do not doubt this.

How many of you think,  to be able to write code well, to be able to carry out business well, to be able to innovate, to sing, to write a poem, to write a book, ….. is a talent?  I, I , I .. don’t. Try singing your favorite tunes more often in the right pitch and in the right tone, try coding more problems on your own, try solving problems in innovative ways.. try.. try .. try… harder and smarter…  improving your exposure every day, every night and start noticing the difference. If you don’t… please don’t blame me ;) … keep  trying..

So why am I being so controversial? Am I trying to drive ppl away from reading my blogs?? (and probably why I ask such a lot of questions as well?? :D ) Just that this has been something on my mind and where else to pour it out??…  this unused space… :P and as I said, maybe its just my way of looking at things… Why am I not following all these things, you finally ask? Believe me, I am trying out some ( advisors are not great advisees, goes a wise saying), and it has only strengthened my belief further.

My First Post !!!

I know its kinda lousy to put a movie review as the first post in my blog…. but this is all i have for now… Okie then… Here I go…

And the lucky movie is…

Guru…. Is good !!

Hmmmmm… i have not been a great fan of mani ratnam. i ve liked some of his movies and have not liked some…. but guru is a movie where i could see a bit of the so-called “mani magic“..
A well taken movie… with a star cast that has a gone a long way in aiding the wonderful storyline..
Well Guru is this all genious guy who knows to take the right decisions at the right time.. is cunning.. grabs opportunities by its throat.. explores loop holes in the systems … all to achieve only his current dream.. And moves to the next one once he s there…
Though its all about Guru and his life.. there are these extremists, who are not ready to blindly accept that progress can be made at any cost.. but only thro truthfulness and sincereity.. they believe that a single guy could do more harm to the society inducing more people to do the same..
Well Maddy is from this second category.. who takes the support of a pen and an ideal extremist to express his views.. ideal or not, he pushes his limits to expose the limits of his opponent.. hunger to prove their point and ego to win the battle over their so called social evils.. that drives them towards this hunger to do more.. and end up reaching a stage where even emotions don help to stop them..

Maybe its on Ambani’s life.. (and well… there were some clear signs of it in the movie ), but it doesnt matter.. cause the picture in itself has all the features for making it a bigtime winner..
Well there were some downsides to it as well.. Madhavan sports a single look thro out the movie (even when his wife dies ).. but looks energised none the less..
The end seems to be a bit cliched.. in the fact that, when u r there expecting Guru to give a huge comeback over the press and prove his potential, he gives kind of a generalized speech in front of the public, and the judges nod their head and decide to just fine him.. (stereotypical is the word :) ..)

One would also expect a final confrontation between guru and maddy.. cause the second half mainly dealt with their fierce battle.. and maddy jus fades away from the picture..
Abhi has given his best performance till date.. and aishwarya, vidya balan and mithun, do not fall behind in this aspect as well…

Maddy could have done a bit better though in some scenes..
all in all, its a powerful movie for quality movie lovers… wont say all will like it(personally heard some ppl call the movie “crap” ).. but still is a “must-watch”..
